Frequently asked questions

Where do the wait times come from?

From the public data published by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the same source local media use. This page queries it directly every 3 minutes. Those times are a CBP reference, not a guarantee: the real line may have changed since the last measurement, and we always show you the time of the reading.

It says a lane is "not operating". Is the bridge closed?

Not necessarily. At several crossings the standard lane shows as closed while the bridge runs normally: at Zaragoza general traffic goes through Ready Lane, and Lerdo toward El Paso is SENTRI only. We only say "closed" when CBP reports the whole port closed.

What are Ready Lane and SENTRI?

Ready Lane is for travelers crossing with a chip-enabled document (a border crossing card, a passport card or a green card). SENTRI is the CBP trusted traveler program and has its own line, usually much shorter.

Why does the wait change so much between lanes?

Because they are different lines. At the same bridge and the same hour, SENTRI can be at 1 minute and the general lane at 55. Pick your lane above to see the number that applies to you.

Whose cameras are these?

They are the public live streams from the Fideicomiso de Puentes Fronterizos de Chihuahua. Here you get one view per bridge; the app has every view of each crossing, freight lanes included.

Is this an official site?

No. This is an independent site showing public CBP information. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by CBP, the Government of Mexico, the State of Chihuahua, the City of El Paso or any border authority.
